Aspire Award Undergraduate Scholarship at the University College London
The Computer Science Aspire Award at University College London (UCL) supports undergraduate students from Black or mixed Black ethnic backgrounds, aiming to reduce financial barriers and promote greater representation in the department.
Eligibility Criteria of the Aspire Award Undergraduate Scholarship:
- Must be based in the UK with home fee status or be a forced migrant, from a Black or mixed Black ethnic background, and have no prior undergraduate degree.
- Must have accepted an offer to study Computer Science BSc, Computer Science MEng, Mathematical Computation MEng, or Robotics and Artificial Intelligence MEng at UCL for the 2026 intake.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must demonstrate their educational, personal, and financial circumstances in their application, which will be assessed against the eligibility criteria.
- Students on UCL’s Engineering Foundation Year will be eligible to apply after completing the programme and progressing to a Computer Science undergraduate degree.
Application Process:
- Applicants must accept an offer to study Computer Science BSc, Computer Science MEng, Mathematical Computation MEng, or Robotics and Artificial Intelligence MEng at UCL for the September 2026 intake and submit their application between July and September 2026.
- Shortlisted candidates who meet their A-level requirements will have a one-to-one virtual dialogue with the Windsor Fellowship, and UCL Computer Science will share applicant data with the Fellowship for this purpose.
Award: The award covers full tuition fees and provides an annual allowance of GBP 20,000 for living and study expenses throughout the programme’s duration. Aspire scholars also receive continuous academic and career support during their studies.
